WHO OR WHAT IS URBAN ATHLETICS? 
Urban Athletics is a group of people interested or training in parkour, free-running, tricking and street-stunts, in and around the Brighton and Hove areas.
As a unit they are a real mixture of styles and disciplines. They say, "We respect all and believe in giving credit where it's due, instead of promoting any one discipline above others"
They are growing in number and are always happy to welcome new 'jammers' of any level.

London Gathering
Keaton, Link and Shadow, three members of Urban Athletics, attended 'The London Parkour Gathering in February', organised by Norwich Parkour. It was a well attended event with traceurs and trickers from all over the land!

Urban Dayz
On February 22nd, Urban Athletics teamed up with Team Agility to help out 'Sussex Clubs for Young People' by putting on a demonstration for youth clubs, at Newhaven Fort.
The day was set up to allow young people to try out different activities that they may not normally be able to access. It was a first for the SCYP initiative and they are hoping to try something similar in the summer.

Paddle Round The Pier
On July 5th and 6th, 2008, Urban Athletics performed at the 'Paddle Round the Pier' event.
The event aims to bring all the surfers in the area together for a social gathering and to raise funds for charity. Each year, increasing in popularity, the weekend of fun is very definitely circled on the calendar of anyone in the know!
These short demonstrations were in true Urban Athletics style, with a mixture of disciplines! Saturday was brilliant weather and brilliant crowds, Sunday was rained off when a storm blew in - literally!

3Run Family Jam
Some of Urban Athletics attended the annual 3Run Family Jam in London, for the first time, in August. There were freerunners from all over the word in attendance and althouh it was an enjoyable day the event was somewhat marred by the constant rain!
